The Sunyani Regional Police Command has apprehended Nana Poku on charges of utilizing the Office of the President to purportedly carry out fraudulent schemes that have adversely affected residents within the region.
The individual in question, reported to be of middle age, stands accused of orchestrating deceptive ploys through which he succeeded in extracting varying sums of money from unsuspecting victims, all while dangling the prospect of employment opportunities before them.
These promised positions encompassed roles within the security services, encompassing the Police, the military, the fire service, and other related sectors. Additionally, he allegedly extended assurances of securing employment within the civil service domain.
As the investigation unfolds, it has come to light that the quantum of funds extracted from these victims has reached an alarming total of GHC 1.9 million.
In the execution of his alleged activities, Nana Poku is believed to have exploited counterfeit letterheads bearing the insignia of the President’s and Chief of Staff’s offices, thus lending an air of authenticity to his undertakings.
