Major Boakye-Djan played a significant role in the establishment of the Armed Forces Revolutionary Council in 1979, chaired by the late Flt. Lt. Jerry John Rawlings (Rtd).
As a democrat, strategist, communication expert, and conflict resolution specialist, he impressed audiences with his sharp intellect and solution-oriented approach to issues.
Among his achievements, the former President noted that Major Boakye-Djan initiated the transformation and financial independence of the Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMA).
Major Boakye-Djan passed away on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at the age of 81, at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
His nephew, Yiadom Boakye-Djan, mentioned that his uncle had been recovering from an ailment until his unexpected demise.
