In a recent development, Nafisatu Mohammed, a level 200 Biological Science student at the University of Ghana (Legon), has been charged with the murder of her Canadian-based Ghanaian boyfriend, Frank Kofi Osei.
The Adentan District Court 1, under the jurisdiction of Her Worship, Nancy Adade, has formally committed Nafisatu for trial at the Accra High Court, with the proceedings scheduled to commence on September 18, 2023.
During the committal hearing, the prosecution attorney, Nana Amma Adinkrah, along with her team, presented a comprehensive array of exhibits and evidence to facilitate the impending trial.
In the aftermath of the court session, Bismark Sakyi, the deceased’s nephew, expressed his contentment with the progress of the trial thus far.
The case centers around Nafisatu, aged 23, who allegedly received assistance from a technical officer named Michael Fiifi Ampofo in the commission of the crime, which occurred on July 25, 2023, at Ashaley Botwe School Junction.
According to the prosecution, the victim, who was on vacation in Ghana, decided to spend the night at Nafisatu’s residence. Tragically, during his stay, the incident took place.
The Prosecutor revealed that the deceased remained confined within the room for an entire day. Furthermore, it was disclosed that the accused, Nafisatu, had allegedly moved the lifeless body of the deceased from the first floor of the building to the ground level, where it was found adjacent to the gate.
The sequence of events continued when the suspect reportedly contacted a police officer on July 26, claiming that her boyfriend had passed away in her room during his visit. Upon arriving at the scene, the police found the deceased’s body outside the premises while Nafisatu was nowhere to be found.
